Welcome!

The Michelago Region is the gateway to the Monaro Valley, which stretches from the south of Canberra to the Victorian Border, alongside the magnificent Snowy Mountains to the west and the coastal escarpment to the east.

It is an area of amazing history, spectacular scenery, national parks and reserves, the headwaters of the mighty Murrumbidgee River, great food growing, and warm friendly people – even on the coldest and foggiest of days!

Come and visit us, stay with us, perhaps even live with us, and enjoy what this beautiful part of the world has to offer.

The bridge is open!!!

At long last the two halves of Michelago have been united. The bridge across Michelago Creek quietly opened to traffic in August 2024, connecting Micalago Road to the village.

Please obey the speed limit of 50 kph as the bridge and Ryrie Street are shared by pedestrians and children riding their bikes to school.

The community owes a debt of gratitude to Councillors Tanya Higgins and John Rooney. They got this project on the agenda, pushed it through Council, and overcame many bureaucratic hurdles.
