E-mail Print PDF

Michelago Public School is a country school committed to providing quality educational opportunities and experiences for all students.

Our students are offered a broad range of educational opportunities in a safe, caring, country environment with the added benefit of each student being treated and acknowledged as an individual.

Our school offers a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy programs as well as the performing and visual arts. All classrooms have access to the Internet and technology is integrated into teaching and learning programs.

Our staff are dedicated and always have the student’s best interests at heart. Our office staff are always warm and welcoming.

Our commitment to customer service is based on a collaborative community approach, a culture of mutual respect with open and honest communication and is underpinned by our school’s core values.

The school has great potential for growth in the coming years as the village expands with planning and sub developments.

Returning to school in 2020 we have been able to provide a Before and After School Care service within our school.

Michelago Spring Fair

E-mail Print PDF

It is with sadness, given the uncertainty of timing for social distancing laws, that the Spring Fair committee have made the decision to not hold the fair this year. Hopefully we can come back bigger and better in 2021!

All hope is not lost and we understand the importance of maintaining community connections. We are currently investigating options to hold a smaller community event Christmas market in December which will give the community a chance to come together, of course abiding by social distancing laws in place at the time. We know many of you are using this time at home to get crafty, making jams or get busy in the garden etc. This is a way to keep busy now and then do some Christmas shopping and support the local community later on in the year!

We will keep you updated as planning continues and we are keen if anyone wants to jump on board to help!

Rubbish Collection

E-mail Print PDF

MRCA has passed on to Council community concern about the increase in charges for the Saturday morning rubbish collection truck, and noted some confusion over options for kerbside pickup.  We are arranging community consultation with Council on these matters, and will post updates here and on facebook.

Household rubbish and recycling collection trucks are currently available every Saturday to 11am near the oval.  Also, Bredbo has a transfer station for local residents to dispose of larger items. More information about rubbish collection and recycling is available from the Cooma-Monaro Council web site.
