MICHELAGO COMMUNITY WEBSITE

Welcome to Michelago

This community website has been designed to offer a common point of contact for the residents of the Michelago area. It has been registered, designed, developed and is hosted by Tech Libris. It is a 'not-for-profit' service.

If you are touring the Monaro and want to find out more about Michelago, or you are just curious about the gem that is Michelago, please check the About Michelago pages in this website.

Authors Wanted!

If you are comfortable using a computer and would like to help keep the Michelago community website up-to-date, please contact Cathy on cathy@techlibris.com.au. I would like to have people responsible for keeping different sections of the website updated. This is particularly useful if you are involved in different aspects of the community, for example the Primary School, the churches or a sporting club.

All training provided.

jeremy1Thursday 17th December will long be remembered as the day that Santa nearly didn't make it to Michelago.

Racing from a point near the corner to Tinderry Road and Burra Road, only a few kilometres from the village of Michelago, the Ti Tree Creek Fire raced wildly, fanned by hot norwesterly winds, towards homes and bushland in and near the Tinderry Range.

Homes, property and animals were lost in what was described by one rural firefighters as 'going to hell and back'.

For more information and stories, and to read about how you can help the victims, please visit our 2009 Bushfire page.
